Zhejiang ranks 2nd in Yangtze Delta for Jan-Feb industrial growth

  • Industrial value added rises 9.8%, ranking among the top in the Yangtze River Delta
  • Broad-based growth for province as 32 out of 37 industrial sectors saw expansion

Zhejiang’s industrial and trade sectors showed strong growth in early 2026, placing the province among the top performers in China’s Yangtze River Delta.

The province’s industrial value added rose by 9.8% year over year in January and February, 2.9 percentage points higher than last year.

This figure outpaced the national average and ranked ahead of Jiangsu’s 8.0% and Shanghai’s 8.0%, with only Anhui posting a higher growth rate of 11.2%.

Zhejiang’s expansion appears broad-based as 32 out of the province’s 37 industrial sectors saw positive growth, with key areas like electronics, automotive, and general equipment manufacturing driving much of the progress.

The Yangtzeer reported last week that the computer, communications, and electronics sectors grew by 24%, while automotive manufacturing rose by 16.7%, and general equipment expanded by 11.8%.
