Futuring raises nearly $148M pre-Series A for home robots

Shanghai-based home robotics startup Futuring Robot (未来不远) has raised nearly 1 billion yuan ($148 million) in a pre-Series A round backed by an undisclosed leading internet company, Innovance Capital, Growth Capital, Dening Capital, Nice Group and nearly 10 investors.

Existing backers Fountain Bridge Capital, New Alliance Capital and Boyu Capital also increased their investments.

The round marks the company’s third financing in six months, following a 200 million-yuan angel round led by Zhen Fund and another several-hundred-million-yuan round led by Boyu Capital in March, extending its record as one of China’s best-funded home robotics startups.

Futuring Robot is among the few embodied AI companies focused on household applications with commercially deployed products. Unlike standardized industrial settings, home environments require greater generalization and autonomous decision-making.

The company said its robots are already operating in more than 500 households, providing over 50,000 hours of service with a 96.8% customer satisfaction rate.

The latest funding also brings more strategic investors into its cap table, with Innovance contributing supply chain expertise in servomotors and robotic joints, while consumer goods giant Nice Group could help expand household distribution. The proceeds will support mass production and market expansion.

Archeflowx bags pre-Series A funds to commercialize LPU chips

Hangzhou-based AI chip startup ArcheflowX (元川微) has raised several hundred million yuan in a pre-Series A round led by IDG Capital, with participation from Fortera Capital, Ubiquant Partners, Shang Qi Capital, Shunxi Fund and Xuhui Sci-Tech Venture Capital.

The company has now completed four funding rounds in 2026, following earlier investments from Orient Renaissance Capital, Oriza Seed, Frees Fund, China Fortune-Tech Capital and Shenzhen Capital Group.

Founded in September 2025, ArcheflowX is developing Language Processing Unit (LPU) chips designed for AI inference across cloud, edge and end-device applications.

The company argues that AI computing is shifting from compute-centric to task-centric architectures as AI agents become mainstream.

The new funding will accelerate R&D, commercialization of its domestically developed LPU architecture and collaboration with leading cloud providers and industry partners.

JHAtom lands blockbuster angel round for SMRs

Shanghai-based small modular reactor (SMR) developer JHAtom has raised several hundred million yuan in an angel financing round led by HongShan, with backing from Shanghai Engine Fund, Shanghai Disruptive Technology Fund, and Lingang LKC Investment.

Other investors include Guotai Haitong Securities, Envision Carbon Neutrality Fund, CAS Star, Hosi Investment, Oriental Fortune Capital, Delian Capital, GSR United Capital, Dawu Capital and more than a dozen investors.

Founded by nuclear industry veteran Tian Jiashu (田佳树), whose career spans nearly four decades, the company has assembled a team from China General Nuclear, State Power Investment Corp., China Huaneng Group and France’s eDF Group covering reactor design, construction, licensing and operations.

Its flagship “Junhe-1” is a 100 MWe pressurized water SMR featuring natural circulation, an integrated pool-type design and fully passive safety systems for applications including data centers and industrial parks.

The funding will support R&D, engineering validation, team expansion and demonstration projects, while the company also plans to develop a 50 MWe high-temperature gas-cooled reactor and a 5 MWe mobile microreactor.

High Field Tech closes angel funding for superconducting magnets

Shanghai-based High Field Tech (强场科技) has raised tens of millions of yuan in an angel round backed by Shanghai Engine Fund, CAS Star and Topview Innovation.

Founded earlier this year from research at Fudan University’s Institute of Modern Physics, the company develops high-temperature superconducting magnets and integrated systems for fusion energy, scientific instruments and advanced research equipment.

Its founding team includes researchers from Fudan University, Tsinghua University, the University of Science and Technology of China and the Chinese Academy of Sciences with nearly two decades of experience in the field.

The company covers the full development chain from magnet design and manufacturing to testing and systems integration.

It has already secured contracts worth tens of millions of yuan with fusion companies and research institutes, while its 800 MHz high-temperature superconducting NMR magnet has completed testing and met design targets.

The proceeds will support technology development, engineering platforms and product validation.

BSI Medical secures angel+ funding for brain-computer interfaces

Shanghai-based brain-computer interface startup BSI Medical (脑玑医疗) has completed a multi-million-yuan angel+ round backed by Lynnovest, Hengxu Capital, Innoangel and Hofon Capital.

Following an earlier angel round exclusively backed by Lynnovest, the company said its upcoming angel++ financing is expected to bring total angel-stage funding to more than RMB100 million.

Founded in 2023 as a spinout from the Chinese Academy of Sciences’ Center for Excellence in Brain Science and Intelligence Technology, BSI Medical develops closed-loop brain-computer interface systems for rehabilitation following stroke and spinal cord injuries.

Its technology combines brain-spinal neuromodulation with AI-powered medical robots to decode neural signals and deliver feedback stimulation.

Earlier this year, the company joined the HKUST Shanghai Center as a key incubatee and signed a strategic partnership with Shanghai Quanlan Technology to collaborate on technology development, clinical validation and commercialization.

The new funding will support BCI R&D, medical device manufacturing and business expansion.
