SenseCare lands $100 million Series B, tops 10 billion yuan valuation
SenseTime’s spun-off medical unit SenseCare (商汤医疗) has raised more than $100 million in a Series B round, pushing its post-money valuation above 10 billion yuan ($1.48 billion) and making it the first medical world model company to reach that milestone.
The round was backed by New Margin Capital, CLP Digital Finance Investment Management, Luenmei Group, as well as several major insurance investors, brokerage investment arms and strategic corporate backers.
The company also disclosed participation from an unnamed Hong Kong-based industrial investor with interests spanning AI computing infrastructure and industrial investment.
Founded in August 2022 as the healthcare arm of SenseTime, the company develops world models for medical diagnosis and clinical applications.
Fundraising has accelerated this year after receiving strategic investment from the Henan Huirong Artificial Intelligence Industry Investment Fund in January and completing a Series A round in April backed by Raffles Healthcare Growth Fund, Lenovo Capital and others.
The proceeds will be used to strengthen its medical world model R&D, expand internationally and develop embodied AI applications for healthcare.
With the latest financing completed, the company has entered its pre-IPO stage and is preparing what is expected to be its final funding round before a public listing.
Valhalla bags nearly $50 million for molecular world models
Hangzhou-based molecular world model startup Valhalla (英灵殿科技) said it has raised nearly $50 million across multiple funding rounds completed over the past three months.
Investors include 5Y Capital, Zhen Fund, CAS Star, Xianghe Capital, Guofang Venture Capital, Landstone Capital, MiraclePlus, Lighthouse Founders’ Fund (L2F) and several strategic investors.
Valhalla is building an AI Scientist platform aimed at Scientific AGI, using AI for biology as its initial commercialization pathway.
In the near term, the company focuses on serving pharmaceutical companies with AI-driven biology solutions. Longer term, it plans to build a self-improving scientific intelligence platform spanning synthetic biology, materials science and energy.
The new capital will fund hiring, upgrades to its proprietary multimodal molecular world model and expanded wet-lab validation.
Kai Medtech secures nearly $74 million from Series D
Shanghai-based neurovascular medical device maker Kai Medtech (励楷科技近) has raised nearly 500 million yuan ($73.9 million) in a Series D financing.
The round was led by Shanghai STVC Group and Minhang Financial Investment, with participation from Taiping Financial Holdings, Shenzhen Capital Group, NTG Capital, Huatai Zijin Investment, Shanghai Waigaoqiao Group and several existing investors.
Founded in 2019 by Liu An, the company develops neurointerventional medical devices covering hemorrhagic stroke, acute ischemic stroke and chronic cerebrovascular diseases.
Kai Medtech became a unicorn in 2022 with a valuation exceeding $1 billion. The latest funding will accelerate product development and commercialization.
Deep Informatics++ closes Series C for digital pathology
Hangzhou-based AI pathology company Deep Informatics++ (迪英加科技) has completed a Series C financing worth several hundred million yuan.
The round was backed by Fong Capital Partners, Yuhang State Investment, Betta Pharmaceuticals and Zhejiang Xian’an Capital.
Founded in 2017, the company has spent nearly two decades developing AI pathology technologies through its core team.
Built on its proprietary DeepPathAI foundation model, its platform integrates intelligent scanning, quality control, multi-cancer analysis, data management and remote pathology consultation.
The company serves more than 1,500 healthcare institutions across China and says annual revenue has continued to grow at over 100%. It has established strategic partnerships with AstraZeneca, Zeiss, Roche Diagnostics and Betta Pharmaceuticals.
The proceeds will be used to expand development of the DeepPathAI model and strengthen its digital pathology ecosystem spanning clinical diagnosis, medical research and drug discovery.
Alibaba Cloud leads $15 million Series A in LCComputing
Hangzhou-based AI-native operations startup LCComputing (贝联珠贯) has raised more than 100 million yuan ($14.78 million) in a Series A round led by Alibaba Cloud, with existing investors HongShan and Vision Plus Capital increasing their stakes.
Its flagship product, SREAgent, combines large language models, AI agents and operational data to provide Level-4 autonomous site reliability engineering services for enterprise customers.
The platform supports online computing, big data and AI computing infrastructure across industries including finance, energy, automotive, mobility, retail and internet services.
Founder Lin Hao said the fresh capital will be used to accelerate product development and commercial deployment, expanding SREAgent’s intelligent infrastructure management capabilities.
