Today’s Yangtze funding roundup: Quantum, robotics, AI infra, eVTOL…

  • Chinese startups in quantum computing, robotics, AI infrastructure and eVTOLs raised fresh funding
  • The latest rounds will fuel chip manufacturing, robot production, AI optimization and low-altitude technologies

Quantum startup SQ Computing raises shy of $45 million in angel+ round

Shanghai-based superconducting quantum computing startup SQ Computing (矩量光启) has raised 300 million yuan ($44.7 million) in an angel+ funding round led by CRHC Fund, with Fosun Capital and Xingxiang Capital participating. Existing investor Peakvest Capital also followed on.

The latest financing marks the company’s third funding round this year, bringing its cumulative angel round of financing to 500 million yuan.

Founded in 2025, SQ Computing has developed a manufacturing approach that integrates superconducting quantum-chip fabrication with mature semiconductor processes, aiming to move quantum chips from laboratory production toward manufacturing on industrial production lines.

The company says its second-generation quantum chip has completed tape-out and achieved more than 100 qubits.

The latest funding will bring in additional state-owned and industrial capital resources as SQ Computing shifts its focus from competing primarily on quantum-chip parameters toward solving the manufacturing challenges needed for large-scale production.

Motorevo closes Series B funding to advance robotics joints

Wuxi-based robotics company Motorevo (泉智博科技) has completed a Series B financing round worth hundreds of millions of yuan, led by Addor Capital, Guotai Haitong Kaiyuan Fund and Southwest Securities Equity Investment.

The financing marks the company’s eighth funding round in 18 months.

Motorevo specializes in the development and mass production of integrated robotic joint modules, providing high-torque-density solutions for humanoid and industrial robots.

As China’s humanoid-robot industry moves toward mass production in 2026, demand for integrated joints has risen sharply.

The company will use the latest funding to ramp up annual production capacity to the million-unit level, develop its next-generation joint products and establish a global customer-service network.

Leinao secures strategic funding as ‘AI infra’ model gains traction

Hefei-based AI infrastructure company Leinao (中科类脑) has completed a Series B+ strategic financing round worth hundreds of millions of yuan, led by CRRC Capital, with Yinxinggu Capital and Tsinghua Innovation Ventures among the participating investors.

The investment marks another strategic move by a major Chinese state-owned enterprise after China Mobile invested in the company in 2025, bringing two central state-owned enterprises into its shareholder base.

Leinao has pioneered what it calls a “power-compute coordinated Token factory” model, using electricity consumption per token as a key efficiency metric.

The company seeks to reduce the overall cost of individual tokens by optimizing the entire power-compute-token chain and coordinating electricity supply with computing workloads.

The latest financing will support further development of its Token-factory inference optimization technology, upgrades to its power-compute coordination system and expansion of its broader ecosystem.

Tranalytic raises $6 million for AI traffic control

Wenzhou-based AI traffic-signal-control company Tranalytic has raised 40 million yuan ($6 million) in a Series B round.

New investors include Wenzhou Bay Investment and Kincang Capital, while existing investors MR Tech and Huadan Capital also increased their investments.

The company’s core product, Smart Green Wave, has been deployed in nearly 40 urban districts, covering almost 900 coordinated green-wave road sections.

The system has improved traffic efficiency by more than 20%, according to the company.

In 2026, Tranalytic launched Smart Green Wave 2.0, which uses AI agents to create an automated closed loop from traffic-flow perception at intersections to the issuance of traffic-signal control commands.

The latest funding will support further product development and international market expansion.

GuangJiu Technology completes angel funding for optical AI processors

Shanghai-based edge optical-computing AI processor developer GuangJiu Technology (光啾科技) has completed an angel round worth tens of millions of yuan.

The round was led by Topview Innovation, with Pudong Venture Capital participating and existing investor CAS Star increasing its investment.

The company is developing an optical-computing architecture based on what it describes as the world’s only “deep all-optical reservoir” technology, moving beyond conventional von Neumann architectures.

GuangJiu says its technology enables inference latency at the level of tens of nanoseconds and real-time training at the level of hundreds of microseconds.

Its processors are designed for strategic applications including nuclear fusion, quantum computing and semiconductor manufacturing.

The new funding will be used to further develop standardized products based on its edge optical-computing AI processors and validate them with benchmark customers.

Intelligence Gull snags pre-Series A+ funding for eVTOL power systems

Ma’anshan, Anhui-based eVTOL motor and electric-drive developer Intelligence Gull (智鸥驱动) has completed a pre-Series A+ financing round worth tens of millions of yuan, with Essence Capital as the sole investor.

The company focuses on propulsion components for eVTOL aircraft, drones and other low-altitude aircraft.

Its R&D efforts target key challenges including vibration, heat generation and reliability, with the goal of developing domestic alternatives to imported core propulsion components.

The latest funding will support further development of its core technologies and expansion of production capacity.
