Buchow Quantum closes Series A round, brings cumulative funding to $148 million

Shanghai-based quantum computing startup Buchow Quantum (不筹量子) has completed a Series A round worth several hundred million yuan, bringing its cumulative funding to nearly 1 billion yuan.

Investors include Guotai Haitong, Jinding Capital, China Fortune-Tech Capital, Shanghai STVC Group, TCL Ventures and Oriza Holdings.

The new funding will support core technology development and the engineering and commercialization of quantum computing systems.

Founded in 2025, Buchow focuses on neutral-atom quantum computing, covering cold-atom control, optical tweezer arrays, vacuum systems, quantum control and software.

The core team is primarily drawn from Fudan University’s neutral-atom quantum computing laboratory.

Founder and Professor Li Xiaopeng (李晓鹏) began researching neutral-atom quantum computing while working overseas and has continued to specialize in the field since returning to China in 2016.

Westlake Robotics snags Series A, brings total funding to $74 million

Hangzhou-based embodied AI company Westlake Robotics (西湖机器人) has closed a Series A financing round led by Goldport Capital, which alone committed nearly 100 million ($14.9 million).

The company has completed four funding rounds totaling 500 million yuan in just six months, roping in backers including SAIF Partners, Xiaomiao Langcheng Venture Capital, Henan Investment Group Huirong Fund and Goldport Capital.

The latest funding will support development of a unified whole-body model for humanoid robots and talent development.

Founded as Westlake University’s first commercialization project in AI and robotics, the company is developing a full-stack humanoid robotics system spanning a general-purpose “brain,” a whole-body “cerebellum” and its own humanoid platform.

Its technologies include the so-called GAE general motion model and a dual-brain pretraining architecture.

CPU maker Lecarc raises several hundred million yuan in Series A funding

Nanjing-based server CPU developer Lecarc (希奥端计算) has completed a Series A round worth several hundred million yuan and relocated its headquarters to Nanjing Jiangbei New Area.

The round was jointly led by Mingzhe Capital, Phenomenon Capital and a major VC, with participation from China Capital, BOC International, GigaDevice and other investors.

The new funding will support verification and pilot commercialization of BlueDot V1, development of the second-generation CPU and expansion of its software ecosystem.

Founded in 2022, the company is developing server CPUs for cloud and edge AI inference based on the ARM ecosystem. Its first-generation BlueDot V1 chip, built on ARMv9 and Neoverse V3 cores, has completed tape-out and supports PCIe 6.0 and DDR5-8000.
