Whale AI closes $40M C3 round, tops $100M in Series C funding

Enterprise AI company Whale AI (帷幄科技) has raised $40 million in a C3 financing round, bringing total Series C funding to more than $100 million.

The round was backed by CMB International’s AI fund, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation’s SARF, Krungsri Finnovate, Charisma Partners and Hyundai Motor Group, while Singtel increased its investment.

Earlier Series C investors included Bosch Ventures, MTR Lab, Telkom Indonesia and Linear Capital.

The proceeds will fund further development of the company’s Business World Model (BWM), joint development of standardized AI solutions with global industry partners, and expansion of its overseas headquarters and localized service network.

Based in Hangzhou, Whale AI provides AI-native enterprise software built on its proprietary BWM platform, spanning IoT hardware, spatial vision foundation models and Agentic AI technologies.

The company says it serves more than 1,600 corporates worldwide and manages over 600,000 edge AI nodes across industries including automotive, consumer goods, finance, mobility and advanced manufacturing.

RoboParty raises nearly $74 million across two funding rounds

Open-source embodied AI platform RoboParty (萝博派对) has completed angel++ and pre-Series A rounds totaling nearly 500 million yuan ($73.85 million).

Existing investors including Shunwei Capital, Matrix Partners China, Xiaomi’s strategic investment arm and SenseCapital participated in the angel++ round, while CATL solely backed the pre-Series A round.

Founded just over a year ago, RoboParty develops an open-source embodied AI platform spanning joint modules, humanoid robot hardware, motion control, SDKs and open-source development tools, and has entered mass production.

The company aims to lower barriers to humanoid robot development through open-source bipedal robots, with technologies covering motion control, perception, whole-body manipulation, autonomous agents, the BFM Off-policy Tracker and Humanoid Foundation Models.

RoboParty said CATL’s investment will help expand deployments into manufacturing, energy and supply chain applications.

Wolif lands seed funding for industrial AI agents

Industrial AI startup Wolif (追知工科) has raised tens of millions of yuan in a seed round backed by Lighthouse Founders’ Fund (L2F), Shang Finance and V-Capital.

Founded in February 2024 as a commercialization project of Shanghai Jiao Tong University and incubated by the Shanghai AI Laboratory, the company develops vertical AI agents for manufacturing to address flexible production and skilled labor shortages.

Founder Yuan Lin (袁琳) was previously a core business partner at collaborative robot startup Flexiv (非夕科技) and earlier led major automation projects at ABB China.

The founding team also includes distinguished Shanghai Jiao Tong University professor Li Zhuguo (李铸国) and former Tesla Autopilot computer vision director Cao Guangzhi (曹光植).

Wolif’s industrial AI agents initially target grinding and welding processes through a proprietary industrial brain that enables closed-loop process control.

The company has completed its first commercial deployment with a listed Chinese company, secured a multi-million-yuan order from the aerospace manufacturing sector and is building a three-tier business model covering robotics hardware, industrial AI and process data services.
