- Humanoid robots go on display in bustling Wangfujing shopping district
- Broader push includes downtown Shanghai flagship opening in May
Unitree (宇树科技), the world leader in humanoid and quadrupedal robotics, has opened its first directly operated retail store in Beijing, marking a step toward bringing humanoid robots into consumer-facing spaces.
The outlet, located at the Intime In88 Mall in Wangfujing, an area teeming with shopping malls, began operations on April 29. Visitors will be able to interact with the company’s humanoid robots during the May Day holiday.
The Beijing site is Unitree’s third store nationwide, but the first under its direct management.
The other two locations operate under partnership or franchise arrangements, including a jointly run experience store with e-commerce giant JD.com in Beijing’s Chaoyang district, opened on December 31, 2025.
The other is an authorized experience center in Wuhan, capital of Hubei Province, that began operations on July 20, 2025.

The company is also preparing to extend its showroom network further. An embodied intelligence experience center in the Jiuguang Department Store in downtown Shanghai’s Jing’an is scheduled to open in late May, although the specific timeline has yet to be disclosed.
The site, spanning more than 100 square meters, will showcase Unitree’s latest robot lineup and include interactive spaces where visitors can operate machines to perform tasks such as dancing and object manipulation.
The rollout of physical stores reflects growing efforts by domestic robotics firms to move beyond controlled industrial and research settings as well as test consumer engagement and commercialization possibilities.
