Manycore Tech unveils AI model to generate 3D assets in 20 seconds

  • The Hangzhou spatial-AI company is pushing deeper into 3D generation and world models
  • The launch comes as the company reports a 211% jump in adjusted profit in the first half

Manycore Tech (群核科技), China’s first listed spatial-intelligence company, has launched Lux3D, a generative AI model that can create 3D assets in about 20 seconds from a single image or text prompt.

The model can generate meshes, materials and 3D Gaussian representations, while its API and Harness mode allow developers to integrate it with AI coding tools and software such as Blender.

The Hangzhou-based company aims to move 3D content creation from labor-intensive manual modeling toward automated, large-scale production.

3D assets in 20 seconds

Lux3D’s key differentiator is material reproduction. Built on a unified architecture, the model can reproduce physically based rendering characteristics including metallicity, roughness, transparency and refraction, while maintaining visual consistency across different viewing angles and lighting conditions.

The model is designed for speed as well as scale. Its fast version cuts generation time to about 20 seconds and supports 3D Gaussian output, giving users a choice between rapid previews and higher-fidelity editing.

Manycore Tech is also developing a world-modeling platform based on its SpatialGen and Lux3D models. The company aims to generate interactive 3D environments for applications including AI video, gaming, embodied-AI training and digital twins.

“Spatial intelligence is a key piece of AGI and a bridge for AI from the digital world to the physical world,” said Huang Xiaohuang (黄晓煌), co-founder and chairman of Manycore Tech.

From software to AI infrastructure

The company is seeking to expand from spatial-intelligence applications into underlying technology infrastructure, he added.

The product launch came alongside the company’s first-half results. Revenue reached 405 million yuan ($60.26 million), while adjusted net profit rose 211% to 55.42 million yuan.

Gross margin climbed to a record 83%, and revenue from AI applications and new products increased 177% from a year earlier.

Investors, however, have yet to fully reward the company’s progress. Manycore Tech shares have fallen more than 80% from their record high of HK$48.50 ($6.2).

The stock closed the morning session on August 28 at HK$8.89, giving the company a market value of about HK$15.3 billion.

Why it matters globally

For global investors, the Lux3D launch marks another step in Manycore Tech’s transition from a spatial-design software provider toward an AI infrastructure company.

The pivot comes as 3D software companies globally seek to expand beyond traditional design tools, betting that advances in spatial intelligence will open new markets across gaming, digital twins, robotics and other AI applications.

Faster and cheaper 3D generation could help automate content production for gaming, e-commerce and embodied-AI training while the company’s improving margins and AI-related revenue point to growing commercial traction.
