TabTin raises nearly $9 million in angel round for human-AI collaboration

Shanghai-based TabTin, a human-AI collaboration platform, has raised 60 million yuan ($8.86 million) in angel funding led by an early angel investor in ByteDance.

Rather than building a smarter chatbot, TabTin aims to make AI a collaborative teammate within organizations.

Work completed jointly by a person and AI can be seamlessly handed off to colleagues, preserving the entire workflow instead of leaving behind copied-and-pasted outputs.

The platform natively integrates documents, spreadsheets and browser capabilities, enabling AI to work alongside users directly within everyday productivity tools.

The new funding will support enhancements to human-AI collaboration, expansion of native workplace applications and product validation for enterprise customers.

BrainTree secures angel funding for AI-powered brain health platform

Hangzhou-based brain health startup BrainTree (树脑科技) has completed an angel round worth tens of millions of yuan, backed by Zhejiang Torch Center, Junyi Assets and Panan Urban Construction Group.

The company expects its next funding round to value it at more than 200 million yuan.

The proceeds will be used to upgrade its multimodal medical AI models and integrated hardware-software products, conduct multicenter clinical validation, pursue medical device registration, strengthen manufacturing capabilities and expand its team.

BrainTree has developed proprietary EEG and MEG algorithms to build an end-to-end brain health platform covering screening, diagnosis, treatment and intervention.

Its product portfolio serves hospitals, individual users and scientific equipment makers.

Its flagship BrainTree AI screening system uses an in-house QEEG algorithm to assess brain health in seven minutes, targeting early detection of Alzheimer’s disease, depression, anxiety and other neurological conditions.

WincoSemi nets nearly $15 million to scale laser chip production

Zhejiang-based integrated device manufacturer (IDM) laser chipmaker WincoSemi (华辰芯光) has raised more than 100 million yuan ($14.77 million) in a new financing round led by Cowin Capital, with participation from Zhangjiang Yaokun, Hongshan Innovation Capital and existing shareholders.

The funding will be used to strengthen reliability testing for multiple mass-production chip lines.

Based in Shaoxing, WincoSemi combines an integrated device manufacturing (IDM) model with a focus on high-reliability, high-power single-mode communication laser chips.

Its flagship 1000mW 974nm/976nm GaAs pump laser chip has completed rigorous internal testing, delivering performance and reliability comparable to leading U.S. products while costing about half as much to manufacture.

The company is among the few globally capable of mass-producing communication pump laser chips.

The product is designed for signal amplification in terrestrial and subsea fiber-optic networks, inter-satellite laser communications and AI data center interconnects (DCI), with volume production and global shipments planned for the second half of 2026.
