Optical interconnect firm Lightepoch closes $15 million angel round
Shanghai-based optical interconnect startup Lightepoch (芯光界) has raised 100 million yuan ($15 million) in an angel round led exclusively by Qiming Venture Partners.
Founded in May 2026, Lightepoch focuses on optical interconnect and silicon photonics technologies for large-scale AI computing clusters.
It is pursuing a three-stage roadmap of Near-Packaged Optics (NPO), Co-Packaged Optics (CPO) and Optical Input/Output (OIO), while developing in-house capabilities spanning chip design, packaging and coupling, and system-level signal integrity.
The company’s first NPO optical engine has entered technical discussions and validation with leading domestic GPU manufacturers and data center customers.
The latest funding will support core technology development, product iteration and team expansion, with the company prioritizing commercialization of its NPO products and early development of CPO technologies.
MicroLED startup Vijo bags nearly $15 million
Suzhou-based microdisplay company Vijo (微玖光电) has raised nearly 100 million yuan ($15 million) in a new financing round, with participation from Xinhe Capital, Appotronics, the chairman of Jingce Electronic Peng Qian (彭骞), and the seed fund of Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area.
Existing investors Fibonacci VC and Lanchi Ventures also continued to invest.
The latest round is Vijo’s second financing this year. The company will use the funds to expand production capacity, advance technology development and broaden its market reach.
Founded in December 2023, Vijo focuses on high-end microdisplay technologies for AR glasses and automotive displays, developing and manufacturing monochrome and full-color MicroLED displays.
The company has pursued an in-house epitaxial production approach and completed technology development, production-line construction and mass production within two years.
Its products have entered the supply chains of several leading domestic and international customers and are now moving into mass delivery.
