Zongwei raises nearly $30M in pre-Series C++ funding to advance magnetic systems

Suzhou-based intelligent magnetic-drive and magnetic-levitation company Zongwei Technology (纵苇科技) has completed a pre-Series C++ financing round of nearly 200 million yuan ($29.8 million), with Matrix Partners China leading the round and existing investors including Shunwei Capital, Lanchi Ventures and Sunbow Capital participating.

The company has also formally begun preparations for its Series C financing.

Founded in 2020, Zongwei Technology develops intelligent magnetic-drive motion-control platforms, planar magnetic-levitation systems and specialized motors.

Its technologies have been deployed in more than 2,000 projects, with more than 90,000 meters of magnetic-drive systems delivered. Its customers span new energy, consumer electronics, AI infrastructure and semiconductors, while its products have been shipped to more than 16 countries and regions.

The latest funding will support continued R&D and large-scale deployment of its magnetic-drive control platform, planar magnetic-levitation systems and specialized motors. The company also plans to expand production capacity and upgrade its global delivery and service network.

Lumiere Therapeutics secures shy of $15M in pre-Series A funding

Suzhou-based Lumiere Therapeutics (微光基因) has raised more than 100 million yuan ($14.9) in a pre-Series A round led jointly by Essential Capital and Hofon Capital.

Efund Capital, Grand Lead Capital, Guangzhou Disruptive Fund and Nanjing Innovation Capital Group were among the other participating investors.

Founded in 2021, Lumiere Therapeutics focuses on gene-editing tools and cell and gene therapy technologies. Its proprietary technology platforms include epigenetic editing and high-efficiency lipid nanoparticle (LNP) and virus-like particle (VLP) delivery systems.

The company’s lead programs target major diseases including hepatitis B and hypercholesterolemia, with the aim of developing gene-editing therapies that could provide durable or potentially curative treatments for chronic diseases.

The new funding will primarily support continued clinical development of its epigenetic medicines for chronic diseases, as well as the development of new pipelines and further construction of its technology platforms.

Raysolve nets $15M in pre-Series A4 for Micro-LED chips

Suzhou-based semiconductor company Raysolve (镭昱半导体) has completed a pre-Series A4 round of nearly 100 million yuan ($14.9 million), led by CMB International, with FinTrek Capital and an unnamed industrial investor also participating.

Raysolve focuses on Micro-LED microdisplay chips for near-eye displays and optical interconnect applications.

In optical interconnects, the company is developing technologies around high-speed modulation, high-density parallel channels, efficient optical output and low crosstalk.

It is currently working with several leading optical-interconnect and optical-module manufacturers on technology validation and commercial applications.

The latest financing will fund technology and product upgrades, application validation and industrial partnerships as Raysolve pushes toward commercialization in near-eye displays and optical interconnects.

SinapisAI bags nearly $15M in first round to scale AI infra

Nanjing-based AI infrastructure startup SinapisAI (南芥智能) has raised nearly 100 million yuan ($14.9 million) in its first financing round from Decent Capital and Nanjing Innovation Capital Group.

The company is building infrastructure for an era of large-scale AI models, with a focus on making distributed model capabilities easier to understand, access on demand and combine for specific tasks.

Its core team includes co-founders and executives Sun Tengzhong (孙腾中), the company’s CEO, and Liu Jiandong (刘建东), its CTO, who come from the LAMDA laboratory at Nanjing University’s School of Artificial Intelligence.

SinapisAI bases its technology on the “Learnware” paradigm proposed by Zhou Zhihua (周志华), an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

The approach seeks to make individual AI capabilities reusable and composable rather than requiring organizations to build or train every model from scratch.

The new capital will be used for underlying technology development, product building and market expansion.

AR startup Alphalong closes $15M Series B financing round

Ningbo-based AR company Alphalong (阿法龙) has completed a Series B financing round of more than 100 million yuan ($14.9 million), led by existing investor Plum Ventures, with state-owned investors from Deyang and Ningbo also participating.

Founded in 2017, Alphalong focuses on metasurface optics and AR waveguide chips. The company has developed an integrated manufacturing capability spanning optoelectronic chip design, master-mold fabrication and mass-production processing.

It operates an R&D and pilot-production facility in Shunyi, Beijing, as well as a mass-production base in Deyang, Sichuan.

The latest financing will be directed toward three main areas. The first is R&D into next-generation optoelectronic chips, including waveguides with wider fields of view.

The second is expansion and process upgrades at its Deyang production base. The third is the commercialization of optical-communications products including silicon lenses and silicon photonic chips.

The funding comes as Alphalong seeks to extend its technology beyond AR displays into broader optical and photonic applications.
