Robot Plus Plus closes Series C to expand specialized robotics

Hangzhou-based specialty robotics company Robot Plus Plus (史河科技) has raised several hundred million yuan in a Series C round co-led by Zhejiang state-backed Qianggang Capital and optical communications giant Zhongji Innolight.

Other investors included GIG Capital, Sealand Securities and Juntong Capital, while existing investor Fosun RZ Capital also participated.

Founded in 2015 and originating from Tsinghua University’s Department of Mechanical Engineering, the company specializes in aerial and industrial specialty robots. Its flagship ship rust-removal robot has served more than 100 major shipyards worldwide, commanding over 70% of China’s market for the segment.

The robots have completed rust removal on more than 10,000 cargo vessels above 100,000 deadweight tons, improving efficiency by five to six times while cutting overall costs by 30% to 50%.

Robot Plus Plus counts COSCO Heavy Industry, China State Shipbuilding Corporation, China Merchants Industry, PetroChina, CNOOC, Vopak and Saudi Aramco among its customers.

The company said it ranks among the world’s leading suppliers by shipment volume and has secured overseas orders worth several hundred million yuan. The new funding will support product expansion and international growth.

Remo-Telight bags strategic funding for space communications

AheadForm completes Series A2 for emotional AI robots

Shanghai-based emotional AI robotics startup AheadForm (首形科技) has raised several hundred million yuan in a Series A2 round co-led by CITIC Goldstone and Geely Capital.

Other investors included the global arm of CITIC Securities, Guotai Junan Securities, Junli Capital, Jingming Capital and Jiaoyuan Capital, while existing backers China Internet Investment Fund and Shunwei Capital increased their investments.

Founded in June 2024 by Columbia University PhD Hu Yuhang, AheadForm is pursuing a differentiated strategy focused on consumer and commercial interaction robots rather than traditional humanoid robots.

The company has developed an emotional foundation system designed to enable robots to perceive, understand and express emotions while addressing the “uncanny valley” effect in dynamic interactions.

AheadForm drew widespread attention at the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference with its desktop biomimetic interaction platform.

The new funding will be used to expand its biomimetic robot product lineup, build standardized mass-production lines and further develop its embodied AI algorithms.
