- Early trial shows demand for pet-friendly cars, proxy rides and senior-friendly interfaces
- Voice-powered AI prompts rapid iteration to better serve real-life commuting scenarios
Alibaba’s AI unit Qwen today released initial user feedback on its AI ride-hailing service, revealing pet-friendly vehicles, proxy booking for family members, and senior-friendly interfaces as top priorities for improvement.
Since the launch of its AI experience initiative on March 30, Qwen has collected more than 100,000 user evaluations.
The Yangtzeer reported earlier that the app initially invited up to 1 million users daily to trial its AI-tasking capabilities, starting with ride-hailing and mobile phone recharge.
Pet-friendly options were the most requested feature. Users said they wanted the system to clearly mark drivers willing to accept pets, avoiding repeated communication—especially critical when animals are sick or during bad weather.
Proxy booking for family members also emerged as a frequent request, allowing users to book multiple rides simultaneously for themselves and relatives.
Seniors were another focus group. Feedback highlighted the need for a large-font interface, louder voice prompts like “Your car arrives in 5 minutes,” and in-ride indicators for drivers to assist with luggage.
Additional suggestions included dialect recognition, multi-stop routes, and integrated taxi-plus-subway options.
“These authentic insights are helping the AI better understand real-world scenarios in everyday life,” a Qwen spokesperson said. “Going forward, Qwen’s ride-hailing service will accelerate iterations and make AI tasking more convenient.”
The ride-hailing service, launched March 23, allows users to complete rides with a single voice command—selecting car types, adding waypoints, setting pickup times, or specifying preferences like “fresh air” or “smooth driving.”
Users participating in the experience program receive 12 yuan ($1.74) in AI credits, with an additional 24 yuan granted for submitting feedback, incentivizing active participation in refining the AI service.
