- Peacekeeper Elite and Delta Force divisions to set up in Binjiang
- City to host esports-themed events and industry initiatives in May
The esports arm of Kuaishou (快手), a leading short video app operator, said two of its teams will relocate to Hangzhou’s Binjiang district, marking a deeper push into city-based esports development as local governments court the industry.
The announcement was made April 25 at the district’s Baima Lake Digital Culture and Creative Industry Conference, where Kuaishou Esports said its KuaiShow Gaming (KSG) divisions for Peacekeeper Elite and Delta Force will establish operations in the district.
The company also plans to launch an esports-themed week and related ecosystem projects starting in May.
The move is part of a broader effort to link esports with regional development, combining competitions, cultural programming and consumption-driven events into a localized model that could be replicated in other cities.
Beginning in May, KSG will roll out a city-themed esports week featuring tournaments, fan engagement activities and cultural experiences aimed at integrating esports into everyday urban life and boosting local spending through links with tourism and consumer sectors.
Binjiang district has in recent years introduced policies to support digital cultural industries, including esports talent development, event hosting, venue construction and intellectual property commercialization, as part of a wider push to build out the full industry chain.
Kuaishou Esports operates multiple teams across popular titles such as Honor of Kings, Peacekeeper Elite and Delta Force.
The two divisions relocating to Hangzhou are among its more established teams, with established fan bases and competitive track records.
The company said it plans to use the move to expand partnerships and leverage its traffic advantages to build a broader gaming content ecosystem.
The relocated teams are expected to focus on player training and event operations while drawing on local resources to support industry clustering and talent attraction in the district.
